Benjamin Chan
Physiotherapist
Ben received his Bachelor of Science with Honours in Kinesiology in 2016 before completing his Master of Physiotherapy at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
After graduating, Ben remained in Hong Kong, where he gained valuable clinical experience working in a government hospital outpatient clinic, engaging with clients and stakeholders in community settings, and providing high-quality care to the geriatric population across long-term care homes, senior daycare centres, and private residences.
Ben returned to Canada in 2021 and successfully obtained his physiotherapy licence less than a year later. Since then, he has worked across a wide range of neuromusculoskeletal settings, including motor vehicle accident rehabilitation, long-term disability cases, and sports rehabilitation with amateur and semi-professional athletes. His clinical experience spans patients of all ages, from children as young as six to seniors up to 97 years old.
Ben’s treatment philosophy is simple: to work in partnership with each patient so their individual goals can be realized. He believes in providing patients with the resources, education, and guidance needed to better understand their condition, while actively collaborating with them throughout the rehabilitation process.
Education is a central part of Ben’s approach to physiotherapy. With an overwhelming amount of health information available today, it can be difficult to distinguish evidence-based recommendations from misinformation. Ben strives to provide clear, practical, and evidence-informed guidance so patients understand their condition, their treatment options, and how to confidently progress toward their goals.
Outside of the clinic, Ben enjoys working out, practicing mixed martial arts—including kickboxing, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, and judo—developing his cooking skills, and keeping up with the latest physiotherapy research and journal articles.
