Dr. James Chiew received his Doctorate of Chiropractic from the New York Chiropractic College. He is also a Certified Clinical Acupuncture Provider and Concussion Management Clinician. Dr. Chiew has a passion for all sports, with his perpetual pursuit on the latest information on health and fitness, he never ceases to stop learning. He is Titleist Performance Institute Certified (TPI).
Dr. Chiew has treated myriad of acute, chronic, and overuse conditions brought on by sports, exercise, and daily wear and tear. Dr. Chiew’s approach to treatment relies on orthopedic and functional assessments that combine the most current research, clinical experiences, and patient preference to achieve peak health and function. He integrates joint manipulation, soft tissue therapy, exercise rehabilitation and acupuncture to address the cause and source of pain.
Dr. Corey Hofkirchner received his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC) in Toronto. He has experience working within sports medicine clinics, St. Michael’s Hospital Family Health team, Mt. Sinai Hospital's Rebecca McDonald Center for Arthritis Spine Clinic as well as Mackenzie Health and Hamilton General Hospitals’ fracture clinics with Orthopedic and Neurosurgical consultation. Dr. Hofkirchner also worked as a personal trainer and varsity strength and conditioning coach while studying at Waterloo University.
Dr. Hofkirchner uses a combination of hands-on therapy, exercise, medical acupuncture (McMaster University), and self-management approaches with his patients for effective and efficient relief of spine and extremity musculoskeletal conditions and performance enhancement.
Dr. Nicole Wong received her Doctor of Chiropractic degree with Honours from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC) in Toronto. Dr. Wong also holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree with Honours from the University of Waterloo and is certified in Contemporary Medical Acupuncture from McMaster University and Smart Tools Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization.
Dr. Wong takes an evidence-based approach and incorporates spinal manipulation, acupuncture, soft tissue therapy and exercise rehabilitation in her patient-centered care. She has experience in treating patients of all ages who suffer from spinal and musculoskeletal conditions with special interests in female care including pregnancy and postpartum care.
Ben is a registered physiotherapist experienced with working with patients of all ages and abilities. He has experience with working with elite athletes (NCAA, OHL, GTHL, National Ballet Dancers, Professional Tennis Players and Professional basketball players). His years of experience has allowed him to treat various conditions ranging from people injured in a motor vehicle accident, repetitive strain
injuries to post-operative patients.
In the past, he has had the privilege to work alongside Team Physicians and Surgeons of the Toronto Maple Leafs, Tennis Canada, Skate Canada and the Toronto Argonauts.
Ben's treatment philosophy is to be evidence lead. His focus is on addressing the cause and not just the symptoms. His focus is on manual techniques and also functional anatomy to provide custom exercise programs.

Lee-Ann Walters is a Registered Massage Therapist who has graduated from Centennial College with recognition from the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association for Academic Honours.
Lee-Ann’s passion for the human body started as she played competitive sports as a youth. Her experience with injuries and their associated obstacles when returning to sport has inspired her to assist others on their journey to recovery. Her background in Athletic Therapy has given her the experience to treat injuries and conditions from a wide range of sports. Lee-Ann works patiently with new parents as they navigate the rapid muscular changes through pregnancy, postpartum and infancy.
In her free time you can find Lee-Ann on the soccer field, listening to music or watching her favourite sports teams in TV.
REGISTERED MASSAGE THERAPIST
Victor Yang is a Registered Massage Therapist who has graduated from Sutherland-Chan; and holds a background in Kinesiology from York University.
As a Wushu Canada athlete, Victor has competed at both national and international events, and understands the physical and mental dedication it takes to excel in sport. His experience with injuries and coaching is what drives him to assist others in maintaining their health and continuously moving at their best. With an evidence based approach, he aims to integrate his clinical experience and patient feedback in order to provide clients with the best possible care. From pain & stress management in daily life to peak performance in exercise, Victor is dedicated to helping others achieve long-lasting results."
FASCIAL STRETCH THERAPIST
Kayla has been actively involved in competitive sports, such as volleyball, dragon boat, Krav Maga and Tai Chi Chuan. In 2012 she became a Personal Trainer and Holistic Sports Nutritionist. Over the years, she has helped a lot of people achieve their goals, especially when it comes to moving better and pain-free. After enduring her own past injuries, she embarked on a journey to discover different ways to rehabilitate through movement and nutrition. Stretching and mobility training became a high priority in order to prevent injuries and to heal from them speedily.
In 2016, she became a fascial stretch therapist to better assist her clients in deeper stretches to keep their bodies functioning optimally. She has gained experience working with clients of different fitness backgrounds and lifestyles—athletes, the elderly and office workers to name a few. She has also helped clients who have suffered serious injuries rehabilitate and return to their everyday life.

SPORT & PERFORMANCE DIRECTOR
Evan Lee is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. He also possesses his Performance Enhancement Specialist Certificate through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. Evan has always had a passion for elite athletic performance, as he earned a Bachelor’s of Physical Health and Education from Brock University and a Masters of Education from Griffith University in Australia.
Evan comes from a well rounded background of high level athletic competition ranging from hockey, soccer, football, wrestling and rugby. He has extensive experience coaching a wide range of athletes, from soccer, track and field and even world class trampolinists. Recently he has honed in and focused on coaching and developing performance programs for basketball organizations, which included experience with division one athletes and Team Canada players. One of his fundamental belief is that in order to achieve one’s ‘peak performance’ the mind and body must be in elite form. A cornerstone of his programming includes mental training and meditation/visualization practices for an athlete to achieve their full and optimal performance.
VERTICAL JUMP TRAINER
Sherman is the owner of Second Gear Athlete. With his extensive knowledge and over a decade of jumping experience, he is able to offer sport-specific, vertical jump training to our patients at Metatherapy.

In 2016, he was invited to participate in the inaugural season of The Dunk King, a TNT reality show in which 30 of the best dunkers in the world face off in a contest judged by the legendary Shaquille O’Neal, Charles Barkley, and Kenny “The Jet” Smith. Sherman toured Hong Kong with fellow Canadian dunk superstar Jordan Kilganon, and later travelled to Beijing to shoot with Jeremy Lin on the set of his reality show, “Dunk of China,”"~Next Shark article published March 2019
